Revere Middle School Principal Joe Niemantsverdriet resigns, joins Lakewood City Schools

By Jody Miller correspondent

BATH TWP.:  The Revere Board of Education has added a search for a new middle school principal on its to-do list.

Revere Middle School Principal Joe Niemantsverdriet resigned from his post this week to become principal in the Lakewood City Schools District, which is closer to his home.

Assistant Superintendent Kathy Bearer commended Niemantsverdriet for his 12 years at Revere in multiple administrative roles during the school board meeting Tuesday night.

The news of Niemantsverdriet's departure came after school board had already begun the search for a replacement for Assistant Principal Andy Peltz.

Peltz, who filled the post at Revere Middle School last year, also recently turned in his resignation to take a position as principal at Troy Intermediate School in Avon Lake. He also left RMS to be closer to his home.

Both positions have been posted. The administration is confident new personnel will be in place before the start of school Aug. 21.
