Revere High School administrators are taking to the dance floor for charity.
Superintendent of Revere Local Schools Randy Boroff, Principal Philip King, Athletic Director Bill Schumacher and Assistant Principal John Evans of Revere High School will pair up with the RHS Dance Team to compete for the “Mirrorball trophy” on Jan. 25, during halftime of the varsity boys’ basketball game vs. Highland High School.
Each team will perform a one-minute dance routine. Members of the dance team selected the music, costumes and choreography for each performance. The teams were assigned in October and have been practicing ever since.
In addition to the trophy, the four teams will be raising money for their favorite charities and the Revere High School Dance Team. The team’s charities include the Kylie Jane Long Foundation, Relay for Life and the American Heart Association.
The game starts at 7:30 p.m. in the Revere High School Gymnasium, where the “Dancing with the Stars” competition will take place. Dance Team members include Ashley Londrico, Emma Hershfield, Hannah Hershfield and Paige Whittington.
Votes for the dance teams may be purchased for $1. Ticket sales will continue through the event and proceeds to be divided between the charities and the RHS Dance Team. The team with the most votes or most tickets sold will win the trophy.
