BATH TWP.: One of Hale Farm & Village’s most popular events of the year begins in December. The annual Holiday Lantern Tours is a 90-minute evening tour through the village, transporting visitors to the sights, sounds and flavors of the holiday season on Christmas Eve, 1861.
With lantern in hand, visitors stroll through the Western Reserve Village and discover the holiday history and seasonal traditions. Tour vignettes are presented in the village houses by local “residents.” Afterward, visitors join a Victorian era holiday party in the Jonathan Hale House, decorated for the season.
“Lantern Tours have become a tradition for northeast Ohio families,” said Kelly Falcone, vice president of Hale Farm & Village. "If you haven’t visited Hale Farm & Village during the holidays, we invite you to join us this year. We are always delighted when our guests leave with a historical view of the Christmas traditions."
Holiday Lantern Tours are scheduled for Dec. 1, 7-8, 14-16 and 19-23. Tours depart every 20 minutes from 6 p.m. through 8:20 p.m. Dress appropriately for this indoor/outdoor activity.
Admission is $15 for Western Reserve Historical Society members, $20 for non-members, with discount rates available for groups of 15 or more.
Hale Farm & Village is located at 2686 Oak Hill Road. For ticket availability and reservations call 330-666-3711 or check the website at halereservations@wrhs.org.
