BATH TWP.:During his year-end report to trustees Monday, Fire Chief Walt Hower explained the use of the Vial of Life program throughout the township by means of kits that are available at no charge at the fire department.
Vial of Life is the name of a nationally recognized program that allows participants to save and store important medical information, and to make that information accessible to emergency responders when they are called to a residence.
The kits include two stickers, one for your front door and the other for your refrigerator door, and the Vial of Life form. The form is completed with pertinent medical information, medical history, emergency contacts, etc. and then affixed to the refrigerator.
“It remains on the refrigerator for EMS personnel to locate,” Hower said, adding that the information can prove to be lifesaving when responders are called.
