BATH TWP.: At the conclusion of the trustees meeting Monday, Pat Hooper from the Citizens for Bath Seniors presented trustees with a petition circulated by the CBS that included approximately 400 signatures.

The petition language drafted by the CBS reads:

“We the undersigned, petition the trustees of Bath Township to support its seniors (36 % of the population) by locating/ providing meeting venues and coordinating and advertising seniors’ activities. This senior program should be funded by using existing and yet to be collected inheritance taxes and any donated money.”

Hopper explained that these were just some of the signed petitions; others remain outstanding.

Two years ago, a group of Bath senior citizens began working toward increasing the social, recreational, educational and service opportunities for Bath seniors. The group meets regularly and plans activities and events both inside and outside of the township.
