BATH TWP: Trustees made a number of decision regarding personnel matters during the regular meeting Monday.
Among those decisions was approving the recommendation of Administrator Vito Sinopoli to appoint William Funk, Bath’s zoning inspector/administrator, to the position of Solid Waste Coordinator, effective immediately.
Former administrator Bill Snow had previously handled this responsibility, which entails negotiating the biennial trash contracts and overseeing the waste-hauling program that serves some 2,500 customers in the township.
Funk’s appointment includes the normal one-year probationary status. He will be paid approximately $2,500 for this additional work, said Sinopoli.
Per the recommendation of Interim Service Director Michael Rorar, trustees hired Scott Finley as a full-time parks laborer at $18 an hour, effective April 15. Finley has been with the Boston Heights Service Department for 12 years, said Rorar, and he brings to Bath a “broad range of experiences” that will benefit the township.
In the final personnel action, trustees agreed to Police Chief Mike McNeely’s request to post for the position of part-time Communication Specialist through May 1. McNeely explained that his department is down an employee in this position; however, given the requirements of the Affordable Health Care Act, the township will be hiring someone for less than 30 hours per week.
