BATH TWP.: During the trustees’ meeting Monday, Deputy Administrator Vito Sinopoli reported the township recently received word that two recent grant requests have not been met with success.
Bath was not selected by the committee for consideration in the Summit County Emergency Management Agency’s Special Projects grant in the amount of $22,000. If approved, this grant was slated to be used to assist with the installation of a pole-mounted emergency alert siren at the Bath Township Center. The siren would have been used as an early warning alert system.
In addition, Bath was not selected for an Ohio History Fund Grant from the Ohio Historical Society to help fund the rebuilding of the vault in the Bath Center Cemetery. Sinopoli said that 11 projects were chosen from among 64 applications submitted throughout the state.
Other options are now being considered for funding both projects, Sinopoli said.
