BATH TWP.: During Tuesday’s meeting, trustees approved two resolutions dealing with grant applications.

Bath will apply for a Summit County Emergency Management Agency Special Projects Grant in the amount of $22,000. This grant, if approved, would assist with the installation of a pole-mounted emergency alert siren at the Bath Township Center, 3864 W. Bath Road.  The siren would provide for an early warning alert system for a variety of potential situations, according to the resolution.

This grant does not require matching funds from Bath.

The second grant application, with no dollar amount specified, would be for a Community Recycling Access Grant from ReWorks (formerly the Summit/Akron Solid Waste Management Authority).

While no individual projects were listed, Bath officials would use the funding from the grant for projects, which would sustain and increase recycling efforts/activities within the township and the county. Past funding from this grant was used to construct and install the recycling drop-off site at Bath Elementary School.

This would be a reimbursement grant and, would also not require any match in funds from Bath.
