BATH TWP.: During the Tuesday Revere Board of Education meeting, the board publicly recognized and thanked four of the community members who were instrumental in organizing efforts to help fund the artificial turf surface on InfoCision Field in the Joe Pappano Stadium at Revere High School.
The artificial turf installation was part of a $1.3 million stadium and track improvement project, which was completed in September 2009.
This citizen-led initiative pledged to fund 40 percent of the improvement cost or $548,000, said Revere Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer David Forrest.
“They have met that commitment in full,” Forrest said, as he personally thanked Matt Wracher, Jim Giltner, David Holvey, and Alex Burlotos. Forrest also recognized Bill Parry, who was not available to attend the meeting.
Revere partnered with the Turf Committee for the stadium improvements, Forrest said, bringing together private, corporate and government partners in a project that brought the community together.
“Other than our classrooms, the field is the most used asset on our campus,” Forrest stated.
