BATH TWP.: Upon the request of Fire Chief Walt Hower, trustees approved a resolution Tuesday to apply for an Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety Grant.

The grant would fund the purchase of a power lift system, specifically the Stryker Load System, for new cots in the township ambulances, something that Hower said would be “a great asset for us."

“This would relieve some back pain and stress for our firefighters,” said Trustee Elaina Goodrich. Trustee Jim Nelson commented that this is not only a lifting system, but also a way to secure the cots in the ambulances.

If approved, the grant would be for $40,000 with a $20,000 match from Bath.
